Blogging is something everyone does right now, many persons are looking to start a blog. Here are some things you need to know regarding free wordpress installation service. First we talk about free blogging websites and after that we talk about own hosted blogging methods.

Plugins are small pieces of software that enhance the functionality of a website. It makes it easy to add features to a website without requiring the knowledge of how to write code. For instance, page builder, SEO, speed optimization, analytics, security, and more. There are several plugins (free and paid) you can install to strengthen your website. You can read The Honest Best WordPress Plugins Recommendation That’ll Save Your Money (2019) to check out my favorite list of plugins. The installation and setup process may take 30 minutes. Squarespace is one of the best blogging platforms for artists and designers because of its swish templates and polished feel. There’s no free Squarespace plan; to create a blog you need to be on at least the $12/month Personal plan. To monetize your blog, you’ll need to upgrade to the $18/month Business plan. That sounds expensive, so is it worth it? Squarespace has improved its blog offering considerably in recent years. It used to be that on the Personal plan you were limited to just 20 pages. Now that cap has been lifted entirely. But the real value for money lies in the aesthetics. The New York-based company is well known for the visual quality of its templates. They’re what makes Squarespace one of the best blogging platforms on the market. You can browse free and paid templates by industry and select one that suits your blog’s needs. Squarespace has taken great care with how your content is laid out on its templates. The designs are top-of-the-range and features like grid layout and 3D scrolling can give your blog a unique look and feel.

Postach.io claims it’s the “easiest way to blog”. It’s from the people behind Evernote, and, naturally, is deeply integrated into their system. Essentially, you just connect a notebook to Postach.io and then tag notes as ‘published’ to make them public. However, you get some customisation, too, including a bunch of themes, the means to embed content from other sites, Disqus commenting, and the option to instead use Dropbox for storing content.

Drupal is a great option for blogs associated with businesses because it is not just a blogging platform, but a complete content management system. This means that along with your blog, web pages and other online content can be created and organized within this platform. Drupal does not host blogs for users, so bloggers using this platform will have to find their own host someplace else. Drupal is also not a platform that readily accommodates beginners, so it is better for those upgrading from a free blogging platform rather than for the blogger just starting out.

There are two main benefits to using a self-hosted format, as opposed to the free version at WordPress.com. Self-hosted blogs have much more freedom when it comes to customizing the look and feel of your website. You can use any template you like and you’ll use your own domain name, for a more professional feel. Self-hosted blogs also allow for advertising, which can help off-set the costs associated with blogging. You can’t run ads on a free blog from WordPress.com, which is why I eventually had to transfer my blog from free hosting to self-hosting. Transferring is such a hassle, I wish I had just started with self-hosting in the first place! One more thing to mention: Your blog is going to be a milestone for your life. Building a blog is building yourself an “Internet home”, even if it’s only to enjoy making something by yourself. You can make a small commitment to what you’re interested in and create a collection of such pieces as stories and photos around your topic. You will be amazed at where you end up in time!

One of the major benefits of WordPress is its great list of free plugins, many of which can be found at the WordPress plugin repo. There are also many premium plugins that are available at varying costs. Technically, as a new blogger wanting to start your blog with minimal investment, you may not need any premium services or plugins. But if you don’t have an investment issue, you can grab some of the premium plugins to help you increase your site’s functionality (like boosting your on-page SEO optimization).
