Top phones and laptops to buy today

Best tablets and laptops to buy today? When HP unveiled the HP Spectre Folio, it made some big claims about how the 2-in-1 laptop would reinvent the PC. While it doesn’t quite match the hype, what we do have is one of the most beautifully-designed laptops we’ve ever tried. Billed as “modern vintage meets technology”, the HP Spectre Folio is built directly into a piece of genuine leather. That’s not a fancy cover, it’s a part of the laptop. It’s not just looks that has put it on this list of the best laptops of 2019, the HP Spectre Folio is also a brilliant performer as well, with modern components powering the device. It is very expensive, though, so if you’re on a budget, check out the more affordable 2-in-1 Acer Switch 3 below. But, if you want the best laptop for making a statement as soon as you pull it out of the bag, then the HP Spectre Folio is the one to get.

We wish the Galaxy S20 Plus wasn’t as aggressive with smoothing out skin tones as it is when you use Live Focus to capture a portrait shot. But we absolutely love the phone’s Single Take feature, which captures multiple shots using the S20 Plus’ various cameras. You can then pick the shot you prefer. Midrange phone makers have had to step up their game ever since Google’s Pixel 3a arrived in mid-2019, establishing itself as the best camera phone under $400. Boosted with the same computational photography software that powers the Pixel 3, as well as an identical 12.2-megapixel sensor and a similarly high-end Qualcomm Spectra image signal processor, the 5.6-inch Pixel 3a can pull off shots that are nigh indistinguishable from Google’s other handsets that are twice as expensive.

While the entire laptop category has gotten slimmer, there’s still a market for larger “classic” desktop-replacement laptops that blend premium design and function. Desktop replacements aren’t quite as easy to cart around as smaller ultraportables, but these 14- and 15-inch laptops offer everything you need in a day-to-day PC. They have bigger displays, as well as a broader selection of ports and features, and are one of the few categories that still offer optical drives. Screen resolutions run the gamut from 1,366 by 768 for budget systems to the more mainstream 1,920-by-1,080-pixel resolution, up to the 3,840-by-2,160-pixel resolution found on high-end multimedia laptops intended for graphics professionals.

There are loads of things to like about the OnePlus 7T Pro. It has one of the best screens we’ve ever used on a phone, costs considerably less than some of its competitors and runs a fantastic version of Android. It’s also fast and is right up there with the iPhone 11 Pro in terms of pure speed. That’s partly down to the high-end Snapdragon 855+ and numerous gigs of RAM, and also because of the slick 90Hz 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED display. This refreshes at 90fps, rather than the 60fps you’ll find on most phones, making everything feel so much smoother. Once you’ve gazed at this screen it’s hard to go back to anything else. Inside there’s a big battery and Warp Charging to take from you 0-100% in about 80 mins.

Powerhouse processors: For unparalleled performance, Ryzen 7, Intel Core i7, Intel Core i9 and Intel Xeon processors are what you need. These processors allow you to unleash your creativity and are perfect for photo editing, video editing, CAD/CAM, 3D rendering and high-end gaming. SSDs are much faster than a hard drive, meaning faster boot and loading times, but don’t offer as much storage as a standard hard drive. They use less power too, which helps on battery life. They also have no moving parts making your laptop significantly quieter – and, if you’re prone to dropping your tech, this makes it harder to break.

Nobody is doing affordable Android phones quite as well as HMD Global-owned Nokia right now: we’ve seen handset after handset combine decent specs, polished design, and bloat-free Android (with speedy updates from Google too). These phones are definitely worth considering if you’re working to a budget. The Nokia 7.2 is one of the most recent and one of the best phones in the current range, bringing with it a generously sized screen, capable internals and a very fine rear camera too – a camera that’s led by a 48-megapixel sensor. Whatever you need your smartphone to do, the Nokia 7.2 will be able to do it. You don’t get all the bells and whistles that you do with a true flagship phone (there’s no wireless charging for example), but not everyone wants to spend a boat load of cash every time they upgrade their phone. The Nokia 7.2 is available at a very tempting price at the moment.

Tecno is a relatively new brand to the smartphone circuit of India. Not many consumers are aware of this brand. But nevertheless, this brand has been able to release and launch quite a few impressive products over the last few years. Their January 2020 release – the Tecno Spark Go Plus is a pretty decent device with solid qualities. Especially the fact that it retails for around 6.3k – makes the features that it provides extremely reasonable and valued. It has a 6.52-inch display with a resolution of 7201600 pixels. It runs on the MediaTek Helio A22 processor. The RAM of the device is 2 GB and it has 32 GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB. Both the rear and the front camera are 8 MP respectively. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh and the operating system is Android 9 Pie. Read additional information at https://gizmofacts.com/.
