Let’s discuss the best places where a wildlife artist can get the maximum inspiration. Skomer Island, Pembrokeshire, Wales: Another wildlife park which has slipped under the radar of the tourist is the Skomer Island. Known for its mesmerizing scenic beauty and fantastic array of wildlife this island welcomes a lot of tourist every year. This island is famous for Razorbills and Guillemots who lines up in the shoreline creating an outstanding view for the onlookers. One can also find larger seabirds such as Fulmars and Gannets fishing around the island while Shags and Cormorants drying their wings on the rocks. Other than that, one can also find numerous migratory birds in this region which makes it ideal for some of the best pictures.
Antarctica: Trips aboard expedition vessels typically depart from Patagonia with some departures accompanied by TV cameramen or ‘celebrity’ photographers such as Chris Packham and Mark Carwardine. It’s worth researching who will be joining your trip to make your decision. Zodiac boats take you on snowshoeing excursions, while evenings might see you attending fascinating onboard lectures. Every ship offers viewpoints on deck from where you might see whales, penguins and huge seal colonies.
I hope to be able to produce at least 24 paintings in 24 hours and all of the originals produced during the 24 hours will be given to the highest donators who have donated more than £30, with the most generous donator getting first choice and so on. My theme for the event is African wildlife and as many of you know, I do love to paint big cats, so there will be some big cats in the originals produced on the day. Environmentally friendly products! Prior to the production of my first item this year, my conservation charity notebooks (pictured above), I did a vast amount of research to find suppliers that are themselves eco-conscious, and that allow me to fully commit to the change into environmentally friendly products in order to leave a smaller footprint on the planet. I myself will also be sending out products launched from 2020 onwards only in recyclable packaging that is 100% free from plastic, using plastic free tape that is biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable!
